Alumier Treatments - Mc Aesthetics

Looking to improve the appearance of your skin on your face, neck and hands?

Alumier is medical grade skin care range that uses multifaceted technology to target the underlying physiology of each skin care type, condition and person.

Many skin conditions will require some form of medical treatment alongside home care products to achieve the optimum results.

All of our practitioners are trained in the Alumier products to carry out consultations, advise and deliver a treatment plan specifically tailored towards your needs, preferences and skin goals.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are designed to gently resurface the skin by removing dead skin cells, stimulate cell renewal and collagen production. Peels can also help to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

Acids used in some of our peels include; lactic acid and salicylic acid, which help to exfoliate the inside walls of pores to fight the appearance of blemishes and improve the clarity of the skin.

A full consultation is carried out prior to treatment, to discuss your treatment plan and your suitability for a specific peel or treatment.

How do chemical peels work?

Upon application of the peel to the skin, the acids interact with the proteins causing exfoliation and ‘peeling’ of the skin.
Chemical peels can be used to improve acne, pigmentation, rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, rough skin texture, melasma and lentigines (large freckles).
Peels can be applied to the face, neck and decolletage area.

How is the treatment carried out?

A full consultation will be carried out, by one our trained practitioners, to assess your suitability for the procedure.
Once completed, the preparation for your peel will begin. Your face will be cleansed and a preparation solution applied.
The peel solution will be painted onto the face, using a peel brush. At this point the exact procedural steps will be dependent upon which peel you are being treated with. The peel will either be left on the skin to self-neutrlise or neutrailsed and removed from the skin.
Following the application of the peel, a recovery balm will be applied, followed by a broad spectrum suncream of SPF 40.

How long does the procedure take?

The treatment takes 30-45 minutes, however timings may vary depending on which peel is being carried out, and the area being treated.

Downtime/ Side Effects/ Risks

The downtime will vary for each client. As a general rule, you may experience a ‘glowing’ complexion immediately after the treatment. The following day, you may experience dry, tight skin.

Light shedding, of the treated area, can occur anywhere from day 2-4, and can take upto two weeks to settle. Following the procedure, an SPF should be applied daily to protect the new layer of skin.

How long will the results last?

The results will continue to work over the next 6-8 weeks, in conjunction with the new regeneration of skin cells. We generally advise a course of 3 peels for optimum results.

The requirement for subsequent treatments will depend upon a number of factors; the condition being treated, age of client, skin integrity, depth of scarring, ethnicity and environmental factors.
